The CORA Offshore Challenge Series was initiated in 2006 to allow CORA sailors to demonstrate their expertise in offshore ocean racing, including navigation, safety, crew management, race strategy and tactics. The 2020 Series consists of eight long distance offshore races including four overnight races.
The 2020 OFFSHORE CHALLENGE SERIES:
NOR Amendment 2 (5-23-2020). The NOR is updated as follows:
7.2 B and C Classes are combined. B and C will start and be scored together for all Series races.
NOR Amemdment 1 (05/20/20): The NOR is updated as follows:
4.0 Schedule of Races. The Gulfstreamer and Sheriffs Cup races are not included in the 2020 Series.
7.2 For Classes A, B, C and D the Series will consist of six (6) distance Offshore races. There will be one (1) throw out after four (4) completed races. To be eligible for a Series trophy a competitor must finish at least one overnight race in the Series. A minimum of three (3) completed races shall constitute a Series.
7.3 For the J24 Class the Offshore Series will include the Spring Ocean Race, Fall Ocean Race and the Alice Cup. The Alice Cup will be scored as two (2) races. Therefore, the Series will consist of four (4) races. There will be one (1) throw out after three (3) races. A minimum of three (3) completed races shall constitute a Series.
